Mr. Roberts is a shareholder in the firm of Turner, Webb & Roberts, P.C. in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and an Adjunct Professor of Law at Cumberland School of Law where he coaches Cumberland's award winning National Trial teams. In addition, Mr. Roberts was the recipient of the 2005 Cumberland School of Law Volunteer of the Year Award. His practice focuses on criminal defense, domestic relations, juvenile law and personal injury. He is a Criminal Justice Act panel attorney for the Northern District of Alabama. Before entering private practice, Mr. Roberts was an Assistant Public Defender in Tuscaloosa County from 1995 to 2005 where he represented indigent persons accused of crimes ranging from misdemeanors to Capital Murder. He received his B.A. from the University of South Florida and his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law.  

Mr. Roberts is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Alabama State Bar, and the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association. Mr. Roberts served on the Board of Directors of ACDLA for ten years and was President of that association in 2004-2005. He is currently the Chair of ACDLA's Legislative Committee. He is the Vice President of the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association and slated to be President of TCBA in June 2010. Mr. Roberts previously served on the TCBA Executive Committee from 1998 through 2001. He has served on the Criminal Rules Committee of that association since 2001.

Mr. Roberts is on the Board of Directors of Legal Services Alabama and is a member of the Alabama State Bar Association's Criminal Mediation task force. Mr. Roberts was appointed by the Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice to the Alabama Drug Court Task Force and to the Alabama Public Safety and Sentencing Coalition. Mr. Roberts has also served on the Tuscaloosa County Domestic Violence Task Force.

In 2003, Mr. Roberts was nominated for Circuit Judge for the 6th Judicial Circuit by the Tuscaloosa County Judicial Commission. Mr. Roberts has conducted CLE lectures across the state for both ABICLE and the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and is a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Alabama School of Law.
