Mr. Roberts received his B.A. from the University of South Florida in 1988 and his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law in 1994. He is also a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College. Mr. Roberts was an Assistant Public Defender for Tuscaloosa County, Alabama from 1995 to 2005. As an Assistant Public Defender, Mr. Roberts represented indigent persons accused of crimes ranging from drug offenses to Capital Murder. In 2003, Mr. Roberts was nominated by the Tuscaloosa County Judicial Commission as a nominee for Circuit Judge of Tuscaloosa County.

Mr. Roberts is currently a partner with the law firm of Turner, Webb & Roberts, P.C. where his practice focuses on Criminal Defense, Domestic Relations and Personal Injury. Mr. Roberts is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Cumberland School of Law where he teaches trial advocacy and coaches Cumberland's award-winning National Trial Teams, In addition, Mr. Roberts was the recipient of the 2005 Cumberland School of Law Volunteer of the Year Award.

Mr. Roberts is the immediate past President of the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and has served on that organization's Board of Directors for eight years. He has served on the Executive Committee and the Criminal Rules Committee of the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association and the Tuscaloosa County Domestic Violence Task Force. He is a member of the Criminal Justice Section of the Alabama State Bar. Mr. Roberts has frequently lectured on Trial Advocacy at the University of Alabama School of Law and has conducted numerous seminars on Trial Advocacy, Criminal Law, and Professional Responsibility for the Alabama Bar Institute for Continuing Legal Education and the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
